Recruitment in the Army is a common process to meet up combat requirement. Soldier job skills are so much important to join Bangladesh army. Every male and female citizen, irrespective of caste, class or religion is eligible for recruitment in the army provided he/she meets the laid down age, educational, physical and medical requirement. Recruitment is carried out on yearly basis (in two phases) by Headquarters Recruitment Unit (HQ RU)/Branch Recruitment Unit (BRU) and Training Centers.

Eligibility

1. Sainik job ability: Age[ সেনাবাহিনীতে যোগদানের নূন্যতম বয়স ]

· General Trade (Male & Female)

           – 17 to 20 years (Affidavit in NOT accepted)

· Technical Trade (Male)

           – 17 to 21 years (Affidavit in NOT accepted).

           – 18 to 21 years only for Drivers (Affidavit in NOT accepted).

2.Sainik job ability: Physical Standard (Minimum) [ সেনাবাহিনীতে যোগদানের নূন্যতম শারীরিক যোগ্যতা ]

3.Sainik job ability: Educational Qualification.[ সেনাবাহিনীতে যোগদানের নূন্যতম শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা ]

5. Marital Status. Unmarried.

5.Sainik job ability: Nationality. Bangladeshi by birth.

6. Swimming. Must know how to swim.

Ineligibility

. Withdrawn/Discharged from Army/Navy/ Air Force or any Government service on any ground.

When to Apply

Recruitment schedule is announced through national dailies on half yearly basis. The vacancies are allotted as per district. Persons interested to join army will have to register through SMS of Teletalk mobile and then apply online to get the admit card along with examination date & venue. Following documents and materials to be carried to the recruiting vanue on examination day:

• All educational certificates and mark sheets (Academic transcript). If photocopy then duly attested by First Class Gazatted Officer.
• Testimonial from school head with permanent address and date of birth.
• Consent certificate from parents duly attested by Chairman Union Council/Chairman Pourashava/Word Commissioner.
• Technical certificate from any government approved technical institution (for technical candidates).
• 6 copies (5 cm x 4 cm) and 2 copies (2.5 cm x 2 cm) recent colour photograph duly attested by first class gazated officer.
• Necessary dress for swimming.
• Pen, pencil, scale and clipboard for written examination.

Note : Children of serving/retired Army personnel may directly report to training centers on the day of the recruitment along with required documents. They will however only be recruited if they fulfill laid down standard.

Selection Precedure

• Initial Screening . Initial screening includes checking of documents and preliminary medical test.
• Written Examination . Candidates qualified in the initial screening will appear written examination. The examination generally comprises of questions in Bangla, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge and IQ test.
• Final Medical Examination . Candidates qualified in written examination will appear final medical examination.
• Final Selection . Final selection will be made by the recruiting officer.
• Training Recruits will undergo training for 01 year at different centers based on their arms/services. On completion of training, recruits will be enrolled as “SAINIK” with effect from the date of joining in the centers.
